Half term

There were a few tired faces upon our return to school after half-term!  Lots of the children told me about the lovely things that they had been doing.  Nevertheless by Tuesday the children were back into their work and enjoying our new English topic on Legends.  At the end of the unit the children will write their own legend so that should be fun.

In PE we filmed our gymnastic performances and then we evaluated them in class.  It is invaluable for the children to be able to see themselves and work out what they need to improve and what they did particularly well. We will begin a new dance unit next week which is based on the Indian legend of Rama and Sita.

Everybody did an interesting investigation in Maths as we continue to practise partitioning...... be sure to ask your children about palindromes!
One of 3W was able to tell us a really long palindrome   NEVER ODD OR EVEN and nobody was able to beat it!

Week 2 is Assessment week and there will be some short tasks to complete in Reading, Grammar and Maths.  These give us a good indication of strengths and areas to revisit in the next few weeks.

Good to see everybody back for this particularly short half term.
