Egyptian Day!

What a day!

On Monday morning Year 3 gathered in the hall, resplendent in their Egyptian and Egyptologist costumes! We found out about Egypt and practised our Egyptian dance moves. We then split into 3 groups and enjoyed taking part in Egyptian inspired workshops including a quiz, Egyptian measuring and exploring some Egyptian artefacts.

Then in the afternoon we were treated to an interactive performance about the life, death and funeral of a pharaoh.

Year 3 put in some wonderful performances and we surprised the school as we marched around the corridors as part of the funeral procession before putting the mummy into his sarcophagus and sealing him inside a pyramid in the school hall!

Painting our Egyptian Masks...

Today 3L have been busy painting the Egyptian burial masks they constructed and covered with mod-roc last week.  They have tried to use realistic colours and patterns in their designs. They drew their inspiration from the Egyptian artefacts they have seen over the past few weeks.

...Look out for the finishing touches next week!
