Biscuit Baking!

On Wednesday 3L had a ball baking biscuits!  As part of their DT topic Year 3 have been designing and practising the skills needed to create story-themed snack box for a younger child.

Thanks to all who gave up their time to help. We couldn't have done it without you!

Remember all your ingredients for next week's final lesson.

Meet the Scientists of 3L

On Monday we tried out some chemical engineering with Mrs Zilliox and had fun with some seaside science considering how we could separate all the components of the beach.  Here we are trying our hand at some chromatography.

On Tuesday we became architects, electrical engineers and town planners as took part in our lego workshops!

We also made our space seeds on Tuesday - KS2 winner to be announced this week!

Then on Friday, while the solar eclipse hid behind the clouds, we went on a nature treasure hunt with a little help from Year 6.  It involved a lot of thinking, team work and a huge amount of running backwards and forwards in the school grounds!

World Book Day

Today 3L were replaced by a crowd of book characters from Just William to Matilda, and not forgetting the 3 Harry Potters!

We enjoyed showing off our fantastic costumes in assembly and then designing a book token for a national competition. After break we began to plan a stories of our own but before getting on with writing it we were treated to some Cantonese poetry in the library.  After lunch the creativity continued with everyone taking part in turning our door into a book cover for 'Where the Forest Meets the Sea', a story which we have studied in our topic and Literacy lessons this term.

Everyone has had a fantastic day although a few costumes look a little worse for wear!
