A Tring Park Treat!

On Wednesday afternoon we were treated to a performance by some of the students from Tring Park performing arts school.

We are now looking forward to our dance taster sessions with the teacher from Tring Park which will begin on Tuesday and will run for 4 weeks in PE lessons.

Investigating Materials in Science

This week 3L have been investigating materials to see if they are opaque, translucent or transparent.  These photos are of the predictions we made before testing the materials. We sorted them into piles then explored the types of shadows the materials produced.

Budding Gymnasts

3L also had made a fantastic start to our gymnastics topic in PE this week.

We began with developing lots of different balances.  We then worked on perfecting them with a bit of practise. Finally we worked in pairs to create a short sequence of matching moves.

Shadow Magic

In Science this week 3L had fun trying to work out how shadows were made.  The children worked out how to order the equipment they were given and then having recorded this with some excellent diagrams they enjoyed creating some impressive shadow puppets.

Welcome 3L!

What a busy week we've had!

It has been lovely getting to know 3L this week.

We had a busy Monday finishing preparations for Bishop John's visit and getting stuck into our Maths, RE and Science.

On Tuesday 3L had a wonderful time celebrating the school's 50th anniversary.  We enjoyed celebrating Mass with Bishop John and watching the balloon release in the morning...

... and had a fantastic time in the afternoon creating some lovely banners and sharing a cake and some juice on the field.

On Wednesday amongst other things 3L explored pattern in Art.

On Thursday and Friday everyone got down to work producing some fantastic writing in RE and Literacy and enjoying getting to grips with basketball in PE.
